The convergence of Motorola Enterprise Solutions with Zebra www.zebra.com has been nothing short of spectacular. OK, my view; but you just need to look at the share price and what folks are saying on the street.
Zebra it seems to now own the over used word IOT market. They have all the goods; the devices, the WLAN enterprise (it should be noted that their heritage was the foundation for Wi-Fi, and was instrumental in establishing the Wi-Fi Alliance back in 1999!), location based technology, predictive WLAN planning, and intrusion detection that is agnostic to all companies.
No other technology company that has WLAN in their pocket can match this. What is important for any technology investment is to demonstrate major business value. In other words, it is not about commoditized wired or wireless plumbing that folks want to pay high dollars for anymore.
This is especially important for today’s mobility experience in healthcare that needs to have secure connectivity to the rollout of the EMR across the entire IDN.
