While many have followed my blog in the DAS (Distributed Antenna Systems) space for a number of years; it has become very apparent that SOLiD is making major waves. (no pun intended not RF waves, but waves in the healthcare DAS space!) They have from a technology perspective brought the next generation DAS to healthcare that is uncommon to all other competitive offerings. This has seemed in a very simple form to resonate with CIO(s) of today. As in-building communications via cellular, PCS, and public safety is becoming the de-facto requirement today, it also important to understand how to protect this communications infrastructure.
SOLiD www.solidtechusa.com is the only DAS solution offering to provice a NEMA 4 UL approved remote unit that can be installed in the IDF. So, what exactly does this mean versus all the other DAS solution offerings? On a high level it means that the remote unit can be locked, sealed from dust and water entry. Therefore, no one can enter into the IDF (wiring closet) and cut a cable thereby allowing the vital cellular, PCS, and/or public safety system to be compromised. In my opinon that should be the best of practice standard in healthcare.
