I remember when I was a kid a guy across the street had a wonderful Shelby GT350 and this JAG XKE, 12 cylinders. For every about an hour on the road, he was constantly "fiddling/adjusting", to get the engine to run right. It was all the timing and sophistication in this machine that had to be adjusted "just right". Spent hours learning how to play with engines at an early age. He gave me several rides in both, and the experience was beyond great. So you ask what does a JAG XKE have to do with "wireless".  Well most IT departments are not "wireless savvy", well some are, but at the end of the day they just want their applications to work…period. However, a lot of wireless systems (both WLAN and DAS), just require sophisticated engineering talent to make them "run right". Hence the same as the JAG. Oh yes you when the environment changes (add more AP(s), etc.), and who knows the thing (WLAN) needs more tweaking. Just like all those UK carbs. On a DAS (Distibuted Antenna Systems), it also comes down to filtering. Previously I wrote about "beamforming", and "SAW" filtering.  Ruckus Wireless and SOLiD, use sophisticated antenna and filtering technology to "dumb down" the implementation and operation of WLAN and DAS. Their stuff just works. At the end of the day, I think that is what IT departments want.
