Yesterday I have an interesting call from my friends up North, Saint-Laurent, Quebec Canada, www.ibwave.com  Spoke directly to Stephen Sockett/Business Development about an interesting technical and business proposition. I have seen this company really morph and grow in the past several years whereby they have carved out the niche and become the "go to standard for "in-building" RF design".

What we discussed was the business model where all "wireless", no matter what is it is, should have a predictive model. To date, nothing like this exists.  For healthcare, this would be ideal.  For instance, create "one predictive model" for WLAN (802.11a/b/g/n), cellular, PCS, Public Safety, (UHF/VHF), and also WMTS (It still exists), and oh yes Zigbee RFLS tags, Ultrasound RFLS tags, IR, etc.  This could be a cloud computing model, whereby any changes that occurs in the building environment could be immediately updated to see the impact with other RF sources.

To me this makes perfect sense as it would allow all the "wireless stuff" in hospitals be planned in a holistic sense. The problem is the standard WLAN tools, like www.airmagnet.com do not take into account everything else besides just 802.11a/b/n.  RF is RF and it needs to be looked at this way.
