A “perfect” marriage in the wireless testing and deployment space. While I have been around Chariot for a long time by www.ixiacom.com, it was felt that www.veriwave.com had the superior testing equipment at least for the WLAN and for load testing and otherwise for medical device testing. I have used their equipment and services on at least one instance for medical device load testing for a regulatory submission. It blew me away with what can be done. Nothing like this exists in the industry. WaveDeploy really rounded out their portfolio last year. Then again, www.ixiacom.com had the lay of the land in testing from the wireless edge to the internet core. Their solutions extend from the Femtocell, LTE Core/EPC, LTE Access, 3G, 4G, IMS, and Mobile Backhaul. While sometimes “wireless” is looked at from a “silo”, like WLAN; this is all converging and testing needs to emcompass the full range of Wi-Fi, wired, and 3G/4G ecosystems. The proliferation of smartphones, and the sharp rise in traffic are driving carriers to marry Wi-Fi and 3G/4g in innovative ways. So for any testing for medical devices (WLAN or otherwise), or deployment in hospitals, the combination (now one), simply is the way to go. www.veriwave.com, www.ixiacom.com. If any entity desires to market themselve as a wireless “test lab” for both enterprise and wireless enabled medical devices, this is the de-facto standard. Just make sure the test plans and protocols are written and designed to take the required IDE and FDA 510k into account. Most recently some organizations are portraying themselves to conduct “wireless/wired”, medical device testing. Organizations exist like TUV for EMI and EMC testing. Testing for actual deployment loading simply needs the defacto standard of Veriwave, now Ixia
