In 2010 Integra Systems, Inc. and partners designed a unique M2M prototype solution for a multi-B $ corporation. The business model was not to chase after “telemedicine”; but to develop a solution to solve “real business” problems. Something that WIFI could never solve. Saving a “roll of a not a truck…but a nurse to someones home.” From a concept to working prototype was got this done in under 90 days..way under budget. Now 2012, that prototype is movong toward reality. www.digi.com and the Digi Cloud is making this happen.

David;
This looks pretty handy for those in areas with good cell coverage.
Unfortunately, many of those that could benefit most from this concept don’t
live in areas with reliable cell data signals. For example, a LOT of
veterans live in rural areas with little/no cell signal and dial up
internet.
Thoughts?
Bluetooth LE is chosen as PAN option by the connected health consortium, look slike Zigbee is also being used.. 3G Module(http://m2msupport.net/m2msupport/category/devices/3g-modules/) based devices are increasingly getting traction for telehealth devices..
