It seems that it makes a lot of sense to look at use fiber optics to replace the coaxial infrastructure. Not only will you have the bandwidth you need, but great cost savings can and will be realized. Look forward in 2012 as industry is changing yet again.

Over the past month I have had on and off call with a major league baseball team that is contemplating implementing a DAS (Distributed Antenna System). All the basic issues came up, should we combine WLAN with a DAS, absolutely not. However, more front and center was...

Integra Systems, Inc. this year helped to create the SOLiD Healthcare Brochure (attached). Also look at the single carrier solution of which is very aggressively pricing. Killer to the ones that we know out in the “traditional” DAS space. Download...

Their is a land rush to build out buildings for LTE coverage. Issue is that with what happened in Japan (where the majority optical fiber comes from), there is a tremendous shortage. In May of 2011 www.corning.com accounced that they were sold out of fiber. Back logs...

The current design of DAS systems via what we know of fiber based coaxial infrastructure simply will not be able to meet the network capacity and flexibility demands of LTE that are coming our way…very fast. Really when you look at all the companies in this...

Wireless expert cautions against mixing Wi-Fi, DAS May 21, 2010 In a recent post on The Cabling Blog, Oberon Inc.’s director of engineering and co-founder Scott Thompson discussed dos and don’ts of in-building distributed antenna systems. Cabling...
