From conversations yesterday at HIMSS (pre-show), it seems that www.broadcom.com is making it’s move into the wireless medical device connectivity space. Rather than providing just the radio(s); they are truly supplying the SOC, “systems on a chip”. Like Atheros in the wireless radio side of things; they however are taking an aggressive approach, thus lowering costs, footprint, and interoperability.
