While much has been said about 802.11n replacing the wire and correcting some of the problems inherent in earlier 802.11 standards, increased throughput, reliability, and improved spectral efficiency, there will be new demands. Increasing requirements for raw throughput, data volume, and time-bounded traffic (most notably voice and streaming video), will require more sophisticated RF Spectrum Management.  Attached is a "Farpoint Group Technical Note", which describes WIC (Wireless Infrastructure Control), of which can optimize client behavior for improved network performance.
