The WiFi Alliance was formed in 1999, primarily for interoperability of client devices and AP(s). I know because I worked for one of companies that initially formed this. However, some assume that it may enough to go through their “limited” testing using Chariot” (simple network tests and scripts), but their is no comprehensive wireless roaming and loading tests. However, I believe that I feel that any medical device manufacture that has gone down this path has made an important major first step. Detailed testing is imporant because their is an actually need to test the actual “radio”. Many assume that a WLAN radio is a WLAN radio..that is not the case. I feel that to meet the medical device market requirements that more stringent testing is required.
